Pumpkin Patch Returns to St. Andrew

The first truckloads arrive at the Northeast Cobb church on Oct. 3.

St. Andrew United Methodist Church of Marietta invites everyone to come and get your Halloween pumpkins and more at its 28th annual Pumpkin Patch. 

The first truckload of pumpkins will arrive at the church on Thursday, October 3. The patch will be open Monday – Saturday from 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Noon- 8 p.m. on Sundays from October 4 – 31, 2013. The patch will be open from 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013.  

“All proceeds from the patch support the Youth Ministry and Missions of St. Andrew United Methodist Church,” said Lisa Springer, director of program, education at St. Andrew UMC. In addition to the Pumpkin Patch St. Andrew UMC invites friends from all over Cobb County, Cherokee County, and even farther afield to a variety of festivities throughout the month of October.

For example, on October 26, the church will host its annual Chili Cook-Off from 4 – 6 p.m. The church also invites children from around the area to start their trick or treating early on October 26, when St. Andrew hosts its annual Trunk or Treat from 4 – 6 p.m. Additional special events will take place at the Pumpkin Patch on weekends during October.

Details of these events will be posted on the St. Andrew web site – at www.thepumpkinchurch.org – as they become available. “We hope everyone within driving distance will visit the St. Andrew Pumpkin Patch in 2013, or attend one of our special events,” said Rev. Mack Riley, senior pastor.

“Children and their families have been having great times and building lasting memories for many years here at the St. Andrew Pumpkin Patch, and we believe that 2013 will be our best year ever.”
