What you need to know today in Northeast Cobb.

1. Tuesday, Cobb County residents will determine whether they want to continue the one-cent Special Local Option Sales Tax  (SPLOST). The special referendum on Tuesday decides whether the tax should be extended when it runs out in December.

2. Would your children enjoy Christ-centered sports? The Mt. Zion UMC Youth Sports Ministry has helped boys and girls enjoy sports, build confidence and grow spiritually since 1987. Now through May 12, they will offer the following sports:

Indoor Lacrosse – 6 to 7 p.m., Ages 9-13.
Volleyball – 7 to 8 p.m., Ages 11-17.
Open Gym Basketball - 8 to 9 p.m., Ages 13-17.

3. Do you play on a local sports team? Does your child play in a little league, or take gymnastics? Northeast Cobb Patch wants to cover baseball, softball, volleyball, swimming, and all local sports, but we don't have enough writers to cover it all. We need your help. 4. Love quilts? Browse and buy quilts from traditional to modern at The Great American Cover-Up Quilt Show at Bulloch Hall. This year’s theme is “Quilts, Full Circle.” $8/adults. $7/seniors. $6/children, ages 6 - 18. Self-guided tours.
