Patch Picks: Where to Watch the Super Bowl

Starting today, Patch will run Patch Picks, highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off, and more.

Stop by every Thursday to find useful lists to help you, your family, friends, and significant others find the best places for everything from Sunday brunch to New Year’s Eve celebrations, pumpkin patches, date night destinations, florists, girlfriend nights out, kids party places, parks and more.

For the third time in six seasons, Terrible Towels will twirl at the Super Bowl XLV, where the Steelers will meet Green Bay this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Here are Northeast Cobb Patch's top picks for enjoying the Super Bowl:

  • Delkwood Grill and Bar, at 2769 Delk Road, touts itself as “Marietta’s Oldest Family Sports Bar.” While stringing the words “family,” “sports” and “bar” consecutively might seem odd, it seems perfect for a day like Super Bowl Sunday. The restaurant promises a variety of food and drink specials, free giveaways and “the wildest Super Bowl Party in Marietta.” Visit www.delkwoodgrill.net or call 770-956-1313 for information.
  • With three huge televisions screens and 25 LCD screens installed just this week, Sidelines Grille Marietta at 1440 Roswell Road has made the restaurant uniquely prepared for the game. Patrons cannot help but watch the game. In addition to regular Sunday specials, Sidelines will offer a Party for Two Platter that includes 10 wings, nachos and a pitcher of beer for $18.99 and a Party for Four Platter that includes 20 wings, nachos and two pitchers of beer for $34.99. For information, call 770-509-3320.
  • Brewsters Grille offers a super bowl party with DJ Mike. Enjoy the game and win some cool stuff answering super bowl trivia questions. There will be plenty of drink specials. 40% off the price of wings. Brewtsers is located at 3595 Canton Road in the Kroger shopping center on Canton Road. For more information, 770-591-1291 for directions.
  • The food is delicious and the square-shaped bar has flat screen televisions for watching the game. The Place Bar and Grill is located at 700 Sandy Plains Drive, Suite A 1. If you visit the web site, it is not updated. Please do not think that the restaurant is closed. I called The Place to verify that they are open for business on Super Bowl Sunday. For more information, call 770-427-9060.
  • Located near the Sprayberry High School, Stadium Bar and Grill offers a family sports bar atmosphere and several flat screens perfect for watching the game. $2 brew pints. $3 Bloody Marys. 2550 Sandy Plains Road. For more information, call 770-509-2899.
