Patch Picks: Boutiques

From clothes to aromatherapy products to chocolate, Northeast Cobb's fashionable specialty stores offer shoppers a bounty of fascinating retail items.

This week's Patch Picks features five boutiques in Northeast Cobb. The idea is for you and friends to enjoy a full day of shopping and fun, and end up at one of the area's best children's boutiques because, after all, your kids will ask, "what did you get me, mom?"

Here's the deal: The list below is fashioned out of small shops offering unique and often custom-made products for your shopping pleasure. It is not a definitive or comprehensive list of boutiques in Northeast Cobb. If you believe that we've left out a favorite boutique of yours, please add it in the comment box below.

3. You and girlfriends can enjoy lunch then walk through Bath and Body Works to sample all of the fragrant lotions. Bath and Body Works classifies as a boutique in my book because of its specialized selection of lotions, aromatherapy and beauty products for bath, body, face and hair. Make this one of your shopping stops to peruse and discuss the aromatherapy and beauty products.

4. Leaving behind clothes, accessories, and beauty products, let's talk about chocolate. Oh yes, there is such a thing as a "chocolate boutique." Chocolate Jewels is such a boutique with 28 feet of candy cases! You can watch candy being made fresh in Julia's Kitchen. The shop offers Signature Toffee, gourmet candy and specialty gifts including deluxe gift box of milk chocolate pecan toffee, and sugar-free candies. Buy by the piece or by the pound. Chocolate Jewels is located at the corner of Sandy Plains Road and Shallowford Road in the Publix Shopping Center. Open Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.

5. We can't forget the kids. If you come home empty-handed, there could be trouble, so the last stop is Ankle Biters, Inc. Children's Boutique. This unique shop carries adorable clothing, toys, room decor, furniture, personalized items, and so much more. They stockΒ  brand names items that include Anklebiters, Boikido Goki, Haba, Lubies, and Zutano. You'll find unique, quality items that are not seen everywhere else. The owner, Tara Luebbe, has a special love for wooden European toys and great picture books.
