No Rain, but Water to Drink

The recent battle over charter schools in Georgia, leading to Tuesday’s decision by the state Board of Education to approve charters for the new Cherokee Charter Academy and 10 other schools, has increased the focus on the issue of school choice. The Board of Education last week gave two proposed charters an extra month to get their applications into shape. Well, the Cobb County School District has an extensive school choice program beyond charter schools. You have until Friday to apply for a transfer under the H.B. 251 and S.B. 10 programs. 5. Georgia’s big news Tuesday was a victory in the water waters on the battleground of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
