Last Day to Vote on CCSD School Calendar

What's happening today in Northeast Cobb.

1. Today is the last opportunity to vote on the Cobb school calendar. The deadline 1 p.m. Parents can express their preferences with this online survey. The Cobb Board of Education will be considering proposed changes to the 2001-12 and 2012-13 school year dates at tonight's meeting. The survey is limited to one response per computer.

2. Aside from the calendar issue, the school board agenda includes the awarding of contracts for renovations to a number of schools, including Davis and Keheley Elementary Schools, and Simpson Middle School.

4. Bells Ferry Elementary School will host "Technology Night"at 6:30 p.m. The students and parents are engaged in a variety of activities that consist of reviewing the school's web page with resources posted, spotlighting the Cobb Virtual Library, using Promethean Boards for interactive activities, CRCT online preparation, and previewing First in Math (an online competitive math facts drill). 2600 Bells Ferry Rd.

5. The Marietta-Cobb Art Museum is offering weekly, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Instructor Jenna Zona teaches the creative process of illustrating! This class will glimpse into the history of illustration and show how illustration is used today. Students will discover the different facets of illustration and work on projects that will challenge them to get their creative ideas to paper. $130 Members/$150 Non-Members.
