Spring break for the Cobb County School District is next week. You can kill two birds—getting your teenager proper driver's education and occupying your teenager during spring break—with one stone—a weeklong driver's ed course.
Safe America at 2480 Sandy Plains Rd. is offering 30 hours of classroom training during spring break. The class meets from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. You then schedule three two-hour behind-the-wheel sessions with a state-certified instructor in the next six months.
Safe America charges $459, but if you're a PTA member, you get a $50 discount by using the coupon code "gapta" when you register online this week.
Completion of the course is worth a $150 tax credit on the parents' Georgia income taxes and usually a 10 percent discount on the teen driver's auto insurance.
