The groups demanding change at the electric co-op opposed the measure and celebrated its defeat.

5. Congratulations to East Cobb’s Harriette Majoros, who won IrishCentral.com’s Summer Vacation Photo Competition with a poster-quality photo of a white Connemara horse. Majoros, 70, told the Irish-American website that she got only one photo of the horse through a rolled-down car window while she and her husband were on vacation in Ireland. She won a basket of Irish goodies. The Majoros home is just across Sandy Plains Road from Northeast Cobb.
