Get Out to A Silent Film, Helicopter Ride, Dog Show

With so much to do in and around Northeast Cobb, how will you decide to spend your weekend? Here are some suggestions.

1. and the Rotary Club of Marietta are joining forces to raise money for tree-planting with the Party at Friday at 7 p.m.

The Oktoberfest Party will feature fire-grilled bratwurst and a festive, German buffet, plusΒ  ice-cold beer. The goal is to raise enough money to plant 2,000 trees at .

2. Would you like a bird's eye view of Northeast Cobb and all of Marietta? Take a helicopter ride with BlueRidge Helicopters Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The is hosting rides from S. 3. The Kennesaw Kennel Club is hosting a dog show, obedience trial and rally trial at Saturday and Sunday starting at 8 a.m.

The KKC AKC Dog Show is an all breed dog show. It includes obedience and rally events. There will be three coursing ability trails and a four to six month beginning puppy event.

4. The is featuring the silent film with live accompaniment by Ron Carter on the Mighty Allen Theatre Organ. The live organ pops variety show and sing-along starts at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $8.

5. Don't forget about Sweet and Savory Saturdays at the . In conjunction with the Marietta Museum of History's "Yall Come Eat!" exhibit, the museum has partnered with local chefs, restaurants and vendors to give visitors a taste of the wonderful food around the South Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
