Get Out.. for Books, Jewelry and Another Rodeo!

It's Thursday, the weekend is around the corner, and you have no idea what to do. At Northeast Cobb Patch, we have compiled the best bets for a great weekend.

Essential happenings for the weekend:

1. Go to a rodeo. The Down and Dirty Rodeo arrives this weekend at Jim Miller Park, starting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and again at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. This rodeo features champion bulls and bullriders, but competitions also include team roping, bareback riding, ladies steer undecorating, calf roping and steer wrestling. 2. Find a good book. Cobb Friends of the Library will host a special book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, at the . Entrance to the sale is free. Items for sale start at $1 and include comic books, antique books and special collectors' items. Proceeds will benefit the Cobb Public Library System and be used to supplement the system's materials budget. For information, call 770-528-2342.

3. Go watch the funniest comedy ever made. Seriously. Some Like It Hot is that funny. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon play two musicians on the run from the mob and disguise themselves as women to escape with an all-female band. And it gets even funnier when Marilyn Monroe shows up. Plus, the movie will play at the at 8 p.m. Saturday, so what else do you want?

4. Shop for jewelry. The Frank Cox Gem and Jewelry Show, a touring jewelry market that goes through Georgia, North Carolina and Florida, arrives in Marietta this weekend for a three-day sale.
