Residents who rely on Interstate 575 as part of their commute may want to find an alternate on Thursday.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will close the left northbound lane at mile marker 6.6 in Cherokee County on Thursday, March 27 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. so crews can repair the guardrail in the area.

Mile marker 6.6 is near Exit 7/S.R. 92.

The planned road closure and repairs are dependent upon the weather and is subject to change.

Motorists can avoid expected delays by using Canton Road in northeast Cobb as an alternate.
