Fun Pet Events

There are many fun events and places to go this weekend.

1. You like to shop and you dog loves toys, so you'll both enjoy a trip to Petsmart on Saturday where local rescue group Mutt Madd-ness is holding an adoption day. Shop, donate goods to Mutt Madd-ness, or seek volunteer opportunities with Mutt Madd-ness. Petsmart, 1285 Johnson Ferry Rd. Saturday 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

2. Good Mews, a non-profit cat rescue organization, is opening the annual Flea Market. Yay! Find purr-fect treasures for everyone and help the cats and kittens of Good Mews.  You don’t want to miss out because they have some fabulous items. They’ll be open for four weekends with new merchandise each weekend.  Hours are Saturdays 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. 736 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite A3.

3. The Southeastern Greyhound Club is holding a Meet and Greet at the Marietta Farmer's Market Saturday at 9 a.m. The Historic Marietta Farmers Market is an old-fashioned fresh market of Georgia grown fruits and vegetables, home baked goods, dog treats, plants, and hand crafted items. A great place to spend a Saturday morning with the family. The Farmer's Market is located on Marietta Square, on North Park Square, between Shillings Restaurant and The Strand Theater. 4. Dog Adoption and 2nd Annual Kidfest is happening Saturday at Belk at The Forum. Dog adoption by Angels Among Us pet rescue. There will be a fashion show, prizes, art contest, book reading, face painting, and balloons galore. Let's get some Angel Dogs adopted to the great families. Belk at The Forum in Norcross is located at 5155 Peachtree Parkway. Saturday 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

5. You and your dog will enjoy games and plenty of exercise at the Relay For Life/Bark For Life walk. Bring your dog and join a fun-filled morning to celebrate the special care-giving qualities of our canine companions and help raise money for the American Cancer Society. There will be a non-competitive walk, demonstrations, contests and games specially selected for dog lovers and their dogs. Details and registration online at: www.RelayForLife.org.
