Free Pass to the Northeast Cobb YMCA

And free flu shot vouchers! Find out what's happening in Northeast Cobb today.

1. Can you sing like Shania Twain? Do you enjoy watching people who can't sing and rate them? Join the fun as The Place hosts Karaoke Night. 8 p.m. 700 Sandy Plains Rd. For more information, call 770-427-9060.

 

2. Toddler Storytime 10 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., Book Babies 11 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. and Reading Paws 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Gritters Library. Register at the Circ Desk to read with a Reading PAWS dog. Sessions are 15 minutes long and registration is required. This program is for independent readers. 880 Shaw Park Rd. For more information, call 770-528-2524.

3. If you live closer to Mountain View Library, check out Preschoolers Storytime (ages 3-5). 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and Reading Paws 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. 3320 Sandy Plains Rd. Please call 770-509-2725 for more information. 

4. Have you ever thought about joining the YMCA? Have you wondered how the 'Y' contributes to the community? Now is your chance to attend the open house. It's the 'Y" Week Celebration in Northeast Cobb. The McCleskey-East Cobb and Northeast Cobb YMCA is hosting a celebration to raise awareness in the community of their annual Partner with Youth Campaign. This campaign provides financial support to individuals and families in need so that they can participate in YMCA programs and services. Free, but a pass is required. 5. Free flu shot vouchers. Yes, you heard that correctly: free. The Georgia Department of Community Health and various other organizations are distributing 350,000 vouchers for free flu shots to the uninsured. Each voucher covers the cost of a flu shot at your local Walgreens. Vouchers expire April 15th. For more information call the Cobb County Health Department at 770-514-2300.
