Free Movie Screening, Aqua Blue Mixer

Northeast Cobb-based Atlanta Metro Singles is offering a free movie screening tonight of 50/50. 

50/50 is a movie about Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a 27 year old man, who is diagnosed with cancer. He breaks the news to his girlfriend (Bryce Dallas Howard), his best friend (Seth Rogen) and his mother (Anjelica Huston), who is also dealing with her husband (and Adam's father) who has Alzheimer's disease. Each deals with the news and subsequent treatment in different ways. In the middle of it all, Adam also seeks therapy from a young and inexperienced therapist (Anna Kendrick), assigned to him by the hospital, and befriends several older, wisecracking chemotherapy patients (Philip Baker Hall and Matt Frewer). The movie is Rated R.

How it works: RSVP for the event. When you get to the theater, go inside and get in the line for the movie. Organizers will hand out the tickets from 6:20 p.m. - 6:40 p.m. The movie will not begin until 7:30 p.m., but you have to get there early to stake your claim.  

Tickets are given out to other people through radio stations and promotions, so seats are not guaranteed as they often give out more passes than available seats in the theater due to no-shows. The passes and seats are given on a "first come first serve" basis.

If you can't attend the free movie screening then you may want to join the group at its Thursday evening at Aqua Blue. Aqua Blue, a stone's throw away in Roswell, has long been known for it's fun singles nights. Get to know Atlanta Metro Singles members as well as other area singles in a setting of cascading curtain walls, rich bamboo floors and soaring ceilings.

Complimentary appetizers, including fresh sushi, will be available in the bar area until 7:30 p.m. Dance the night away to the music of the American Flyers.
