Cobb Alcohol Task Force Launches Campaign

The "Real Proof" effort is being undertaken in partnership with the Cobb County School District.

Cobb Alcohol Taskforce (CobbAT) in partnership with the Cobb County School District has been awarded a grant from the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) to develop an educational yet entertaining awareness campaign addressing the effects of and common misconceptions about underage and youth binge drinking.

The campaign, titled “Real Proof,” aims to increase public awareness of the effects of underage and youth binge drinking and proven strategies for change. Phase I of the campaign is now launched, with phase II coming in March, just in time for high school prom season. The campaign will run through April, which is National Alcohol Awareness Month.

The Real Proof campaign will include a series of “man on the street” or “real stories” video interviews designed to highlight common misconceptions, followed by “real facts” with sources correcting the misconceptions, and then “real proof” of individual and community action proven to reduce underage and youth binge drinking.
