Citizens of the Week

Every week Northeast Cobb Patch interviews neighbors and their pooches at the dog park.

Tim Rain, a private real estate investor and resident of Northeast Cobb since 1987, has just recently starting coming to the leash-free .

“I didn’t even know the park had a leash-free area,” said Rain. “Last October when I adopted my dog Jack from the , a friend told me about this place.”

Rain and Jack are park regulars, visiting at least five days a week. They have come to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere the area offers.

“It’s a great way to meet new and interesting people,” said Rain.

Charles Sevier and his dog Roxy, who are friends of Rain, were also enjoying the quiet morning ambiance of the park.

After 36 years as a financial professional for GMAC, Sevier is retired. He and his wife moved back to Marietta three years ago to be closer to their grandchildren.

Sevier said, “While working for GMAC, I was constantly moving from city-to-city and have lived in Orlando, Baltimore, Detroit, Nashville and various other places. My wife and I have always loved Northeast Cobb, and since our children still live here with our grandkids, the obvious choice after retirement was to come home."

Sevier and Rain agree that Northeast Cobb is a wonderful place to live. With low taxes, friendly people and plenty of cultural and outdoor activities to enjoy, there’s just no place like it.

Be sure to visit the leash-free dog park next time you want to spend some time outdoors in a friendly environment. Who knows, you could be our next Sweat Mountain Dog Park “citizen of the week."
