$4,000 Winning Keno Tickets Donated to Church

Someone left the three tickets in Northeast Cobb's Unity North Atlanta Church collection plate during a recent Sunday service.

The Georgia Lottery reported that the Unity North Atlanta Church received a donation of three winning Keno tickets worth $4,069.

Church staff claimed the prize Aug. 1.

“This is a first for us,” church office manager Wendy Beck told the Georgia Lottery. She said the church will apply the winnings toward its mortgage and monthly bills.

“We are so very grateful for the generosity of our anonymous donor and for the lives that will be touched through the Georgia Lottery,” presiding minister the Rev. Richard Burdick said.

Two of the tickets were purchased at a QuikTrip on North Cobb Parkway. The third ticket was bought at the on Sandy Plains Road, both in Northeast Cobb, lottery officials said.
