What Do You Think: Real Tree or Fake?

The Christmas season is coming up and many will have to make the choice: real or fake?

For the purists, a fake tree would never grace the middle of the living room.  No fragrant scent, no dice.

On the other hand, what’s the point of cutting down or buying a real tree just so it can sit in your house for a couple of weeks, drip sap and drop needles all over the living room rug?

There’s a choice to be made for sure and the season is upon us. So which way are you going this year? Do you plan to pull out the artificial tree or go buy one for the season?

According to the National Christmas Tree Association, the number of real trees purchased in 2010 was 27 million, while fake trees were 8.2 million (note: you only need to buy an artificial tree once).

So what do you think - does a tree need to be real or does an artificial do the trick?

My family has gotten live trees from Sleepy Hollow Tree Farm for years. It makes a great family Christmas adventure and builds memories of searching for the perfect tree, then cutting it down and taking it home to decorate. The farm is located off Hwy 92 between Douglasville and Hiram. To find out more check out their website at www.sleepyhollowtrees.com.
