Phone Apps for Kids
What do phone apps and healthy kids have in common?
I have recently fallen in love with an app on my phone. Really. It’s called “Drinking Water.” Every hour or so my phone makes the sound of water being poured into a glass to remind me to drink another cup of water.
We know how crucial it is to stay hydrated. Yet, most Americans do not drink enough water each day. Add this app to your kids smart phone. It records how many cups of water they drink daily.
If they haven’t had water yet it will say “you haven’t had any water yet today.” Later it might say, “You have only had two cups of water today.” I love it!
It’s just a tiny way to help parents not “nag” their kids about the need to drink more water. Let their phone remind them eight times a day.
Some of the educational apps my children enjoy are:
Many apps are available for toddlers, elementary students, and middle school age students. There are helpful study apps for high school and college students. Choose from memory games, writing games, foreign language apps, sign language apps, periodic table apps, scientific calculator apps and thousands more.
Let's face it. Most kids don't like being told what to do. The world-changing development of phone apps can help families find a little more balance and a little less nagging. Thus, phone apps definitely contribute to happy, healthy kids.
