Northeast Cobb Road Work Update
Here are the road work projects in progress in Northeast Cobb this week.
Traffic in the following areas will be affected by continuing road improvements Monday through Friday of this week, according to the office of Northeast Cobb Commissioner JoAnn Birrell:
Canton Rd to Trickum Rd – Monday, July 9 through Friday, July 13
This section of construction is substantially complete. The contractor will continue adding the finishing touches on the project including fine grading and grassing shoulders.
Trickum Rd to Jims Rd – Monday, July 9 through Friday, July 13
Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Trickum Road and Jims Road with one lane remaining open for your commute. Be advised, it’s possible the contractor could be placing asphalt pavement and final lane striping which could result in a longer commute.
Jims Rd to Sandy Plains Rd – Monday, July 9 through Friday, July 13
Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Jims Road and Sandy Plains Road. One lane will remain open at all times for your commute. The contractor will be grading and installing storm drainage with utility relocations which should not affect your service.
Holly Springs @ Davis Construction Update
The contractor will be placing lane striping along with fine grading and grassing shoulders.
Mark Avenue Bridge Replacement Construction Update
Mark Avenue remains closed to traffic at the bridge spanning a tributary of Noonday Creek. The contractor will begin demolition of the existing bridge. Utility companies will be relocating services, which should not affect your service.
Roswell Road (SR 120) widening from SR 120 Loop to Bridgegate Drive Update
EXPECT DELAYS as the contractor is scheduled to begin asphalt paving on Monday, July 9 and continue through the week. This will include lane closures in both directions.
EXPECT DELAYS. Asphalt paving operations, which will include lane closures with one lane remaining open at all times are scheduled* next week July 9-13 on the following roads:
· Bishop Lake Road from Johnson Ferry Rd to Roswell Rd (SR 120)
