Northeast Cobb Football Back to Business

The coaches from six prep teams will preview the season at Wednesday's Chamber of Commerce breakfast.

Northeast Cobb, are you ready for some football?

The head coaches of the six public high schools in East and Northeast Cobb will talk about their teams at Wednesday's Pigskin Preview breakfast of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce East Cobb Area Council.

The breakfast takes places from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the clubhouse of Indian Hills Country Club, 4001 Clubland Drive.

Online registration has ended; admission at the door is $25 for chamber members and $35 for non-members.

Last season was one to remember for high school football in East Cobb. Walton reached the Class AAAAA finals, defeating backyard rival Lassiter in the semifinals. Both teams are expected to be among the best in the state again this fall.

Pope and Kell qualified for the Class AAAA state playoffs, and Sprayberry and Wheeler also were improved teams during the season.

Kell and Walton will be representing East Cobb in the Corky Kell Classic, named after the late Wheeler coach, to start the season, on Aug. 25 at the Georgia Dome.
