Suspect Charged Again in Murder-for-Hire Plot 

Gwinnett County Police say a incarcerated man arrested on murder-for-hire charges is trying to make plans to kill the same Norcross man again.

In November, a plain clothes officer met with the suspect, 65-year-old Duluth resident Joseph Memar, during his visitation time, according to a news release from Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith. Read more on Norcross Patch.

One North Forsyth Student Dead, 5 Others Injured 

A North Forsyth High School student is dead and another student is critically injured after a fatal car crash on Hendrix Road about a mile north of Highway 369 Monday afternoon, according to authorities. Read more on Cumming Patch.

Cartersville Man Wins $225K Fantasy 5 Prize

A big Georgia Lottery prize has made its way to a Cartersville man’s backyard.

Lynn Pack, self-employed backyard fencer, won the $225,091 jackpot prize from the Nov. 30 Fantasy 5 drawing by matching all five winning numbers. For more go to Cartersville Patch.

Woman Killed in Possible Gang Shooting in Norcross Area

A woman was shot and killed in unincorporated Norcross in what police believe was an incident related to criminal street gang activity.

The woman, identified as 21-year-old Malia Arianne Ross-Robinson, was shot at 4161 Phil Niekro Parkway off Beaver Ruin Road around 4:15 a.m. Dec. 9. She was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries, according to a news release from Gwinnett County Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith. Read more on Norcross Patch.
