Murder Suspect Allegedly Makes Suicide Threat
John Kristofak reportedly tells The Marietta Daily Journal he will "burn in hell" for the death of his ex-wife.
The East Cobb man being sought for the murder of his ex-wife apparently has told The Marietta Daily Journal he won't be found alive.
The newspaper reported Wednesday that it has received an e-mail it believes came from from John Kristofak saying that by "the time you get this (I) will be dead."
The MDJ said it received the e-mail early Monday, the day after an arrest warrant was issued for him in the killing of Donna Kristofak.
She was found unresponsive Saturday morning at her home near Walton High School and later died at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, but Cobb Police have not indicated how she was murdered.
The MDJ reported that the e-mail it received also contained this sentence: "There is no justifying what i did and im sure i will burn in hell for it."
The MDJ said it forwarded the e-mail to a Cobb Sheriff's Office investigator on the case who determined that the sender likely is Kristofak.
Cobb Police say Kristofak was last seen driving a brown Chevrolet Equinox with Georgia tag BUV 2635 and should be considered armed and dangerous.
A domestic violence expert interviewed by the newspaper is skeptical of Kristofak's suicide threat.
Kristofak pleaded guilty to aggravated stalking and family battery on Oct. 12 and was sentenced to four years and five months on probation and seven months in jail, with credit for time served. He was released on Oct. 29 and a permanent restraining order was issued against him.
On Monday The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Donna Kristofak got an initial restraining order against Kristofak a month after she filed for divorce in August 2011.
The AJC also reported that John Kristofak was facing felony drug charges in February of this year, and was to serve eight months on work-release.
That's around the time when threats allegedly began against Donna Kristofak, including promises that included killing her, according to a warrant issued at the time.
