Lassiter Wideout Jenkins Chooses Clemson
The highly sought-after senior spurns Oklahoma State and other big-name Division I schools with his decision.
Star Lassiter High School wide receiver Ryan Jenkins publicly announced his commitment to attend Clemson University and to play football for the Clemson Tigers, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.
Jenkins, who transferred from Milton High School in the spring, made his decision known on Sunday. Jenkins recently attended The Opening, an elite camp for top senior prospects hosted at Nike's Oregon World Headquarters.
The newest Clemson Tiger certainly earned his stripes with his outstanding performance for the Eagles last season. Jenkins amassed 24 catches for 415 yards and six touchdowns as one part of Lassiter's three-headed-monster of quarterback Eddie Printz, and fellow wideout Juwan Dickey.
“He’s going to be an outstanding multi-purpose receiver,” Lassiter head Coach Jep Irwin told the MDJ. “He really fits with what (Clemson offensive coordinator) Chad Morris and (head coach) Dabo Swinney want to do, which is spread the field and get your best guys in space.”
