Kincaid Premieres Original Rock Musical

Students at Kincaid Elementary School are putting a creative spin on a very important message about bullying.

The Honor Chorus is producing an original rock musical about bullying. This full-scale production was conceived and scripted by the school's music teacher, Pete Bush. Jim Chabucos, a respected local arranger, composer, and musician, and Marchelle Studstill, Kincaid's technology teacher, collaborated with Bush on lyrics and arrangements. Fourth and fifth-grade students will perform The Grim Twins in March. It will be made available to other schools and theater groups to license.

The Grim Twins highlights the importance of inclusion, acceptance, and family support. The musical encourages children to accept the differences in others and to find a creative outlet to express their emotions.

β€œWe hear too many stories about children who live in fear, or worse, take their own lives because of bullying. As a teacher, I want my students to know that every human being has unique talents. The Grim Twins is my way of showing students that everybody matters,” said Bush.
