Kell Band Holds Bingo Fundraiser
Proceeds from the March 2 event will go toward the purchase of new uniforms.

The Kell High School Marching Band will hold a fundraiser on Saturday, March 2 that includes 30 rounds of bingo, a 50/50 prize drawing, a cake sale, and a silent auction on Saturday, March 2, 2013 in the Kell High School Cafeteria. The games will begin at 6:30 p.m.
“All proceeds from the games will go to the Kell High School Marching Band uniform fund,” said band director David Roth. “We have had the same uniforms for 11 years and we are trying to raise the money for new uniforms for next year. We’ve got lots of great prizes for everyone. People can pay by cash, check, or credit card. It will be a really good time.”
Established in 2002, the Kell High School Band Program has grown from 50 members in its first year to more than 200 today. The program’s recent ensemble honors include: Class AA champions (and 2nd place overall) at the 2012 Western Carolina University Tournament of Champions, back-to-back regional Grand Championships at Jacksonville State University and the University of Akron in 2010, and consistent regional finalists at all major marching band competitions.
The Kell Wind Symphony was one of 7 high school ensembles from throughout the southeast United States invited to perform at the prestigious 2013 University of Georgia January Music Festival. In 2011, Kell became the first school ever to send two percussion ensembles to the Bands of America National Percussion Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In 2010, the Kell Wind Symphony was one of four bands INTERNATIONALLY to be invited to perform at the Midwest International Band Clinic in Chicago, IL. In all facets of the Kell program, the standards for excellence are very high.
