Honors Continue for Kell's Langley
The Longhorns' football star has been named Cobb defensive player of the year by The Marietta Daily Journal.
Brendan Langley's senior season has been a star-studded one, and among the first of what figure to be many awards are rolling in.
Langley, who had six interceptions on the season, led the Longhorns to a 10-2 record, the Region 7-AAAAA title and a second-round appearance in the Class AAAAA playoffs.
“Defensively, he’s a shutdown corner,” Kell coach Derek Cook told the newspaper. “Any ball that’s thrown his way, 50 percent of them he’s going to catch."
A 6-foot-1 cornerback, Langley also was busy making his college football plans during the season. After initially saying he would attend the University of South Carolina, Langley gave a verbal commitment to the Unversity of Georgia, which made him one of its top recruiting targets.
In February, is expected to sign a formal scholarship offer from UGA along with fellow Longhorn defensive back Quincy Maugher, who committed last summer.
