About Dreams of Recovery Foundation
The Cindy Donald Dreams of Recovery Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable organization formed in February, 2008. It was founded by Donald who was critically injured on March 25, 2005 when she was struck by a vehicle while sunbathing in her driveway. She sustained injuries which left her paralyzed below her shoulders; a C4 quadraplegic.
The Foundation charter member Officers and Directors, and numerous devoted individuals from the community, share the common goal of seeking Dreams of Recovery for Cindy and all the many others who have suffered the devastating effects of paralysis due to spinal cord or brain injuries.
Dreams of Recovery focuses on three major factors involved in the lives of individuals with spinal cord and brain injuries:
- granting financial support for individuals to participate in approved therapy programs which are not covered by insurance.
- granting individuals equipment to improve daily life.
- granting approved institutions necessary funding to conduct scientific research to find a cure for paralysis.
The organization is funded by the generosity of individual donations, multiple fundraisers, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic foundation grants. They greatly appreciate all donations, volunteers, and new ideas that contribute to the Foundation's success.
