The cyclist has been identified as Anthony Randolph Dixon, 49, of Marietta. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported he is in critical condition at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

The driver and vehicle are being pursued by Cobb County Police, the report said.

A bicyclist was injured early Wednesday morning after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run incident Northeast Cobb. 

According to 11 Alive, the accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Canton Road and Piedmont Road. 

The report said the unidentified victim was taken to a hospital, but no further information was available.
