An Evening With Karen Spears Zacharias
Northeast Cobb's The Book Exchange hosts a reception for the author of the new non-fiction tale, A Silence of Mockingbirds: The Memoir of a Murder.
Karen Spears Zacharias will introduce her new non-fiction tale, A Silence of Mockingbirds: The Memoir of a Murder, at Northeast Cobb's The Book Exchange on Tuesday, May 1 from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
In her book, described by author Ann Rule as ”a must read,” Zacharias recounts the touching and tragic story of the death of a very young, much-loved child, Karly, daughter of a woman with a close, personal connection to Zacharias’ own family.
A former investigative reporter, Zacharias’s work has been featured on the Huffington Post and Good Morning America. She reconstructs the events surrounding the child’s death at the hands of her mother’s boyfriend.
“Karen has given us Karly's legacy,” says Ann Rule, “that of a small, bright spirit who loved and was loved,” and a life with a heartbreaking ending at the hands of those who should have cared most.
Local author Renea Winchester will introduce Karen at the event.
The event is free to the public.
