Kids aren't always enthusiastic about haircuts. Small children require a little more patience.

Sabra Dupree, the proud mother of two sons, certainly understands. A love of hair styling and working with children inspired Dupree and her husband to start Kids Kuts Salon in 1999.

"We've been here 12 years, same spot. I love to come to work everyday. I love to watch the children grow up," Dupree told Northeast Cobb Patch.

The salon employs an enthusiastic team of stylists: Amanda, Chiraz, Shaundra and Dupree. The team performs about 44 haircuts daily.

A basic child's haircut costs $14. A bang trim, $5. 

Salon services go beyond hair cutting. A boy's haircut with highlights costs $28. Your child's ears can be pierced for $24. Highlights and temporary perms are available.

In business over a decade, Dupree has watched many child clients grow up and start families.

"A couple of my child clients are now parents and bring their children to the salon," said Dupree. "It's wonderful to build lasting relationships with clients."

Five years ago the salon started offering adult services. A men's haircut costs $12. A women’s haircut costs $20 (blow dry additional). Color is available. A special service, Japanese Thermo Straightener, starts at $100.

When not operating her business, Dupree is involved in the community.

Dupree's sons attended Davis, Mabry and Lassiter schools. The boys participated in football, baseball, basketball, and track and field. Supporting local sports teams is important to Dupree.

"We've always had a booth at spring and fall school festivals. We give 50 percent of profits made at the booth to the school." Rocky Mount, Nicholson, Mabry, Davis and Lassiter are a few of the schools to benefit.
