Lanier Hawkins, 84, of Marietta died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010.
A native of Decatur, he had lived in Cobb County for 79 years. He was a 1943 graduate of Acworth High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a charter member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Marietta and retired from Lockheed in 1981.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, with the Rev. Brad Smith and the Rev. Joel Teague officiating. Burial will follow in the Noonday Baptist Church Cemetery.
