Gas South promotes three vice presidents
(Atlanta – November 1, 2012) – Gas South, Georgia’s fastest growing natural gas provider since 2008, has promoted three employees to vice presidents to oversee sales, operations and supply.
Manon Brochu and Chris Coan who both previously served as associate vice presidents, and Freddy Cardozo who served as a director, have been with the company for several years.
“As vice president of sales and operations for mass markets, I oversee all residential and small commercial customers and marketing, including operations at the new customer care center,” Brochu said. “I’m excited about this new prospect and how we can better serve our customers.”
Brochu has more than 20 years experience in business development, finance and marketing, including positions at Southern Company and Delta. She is originally from Canada, but grew up in Florida. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a M.B.A from Kennesaw State University. Brochu resides in Atlanta with her two dogs.
Coan now serves as vice president of sales and operations for commercial and government accounts. Under his leadership, he has helped grow service with the Georgia Hotel and Lodging Association, Georgia Municipal Association and the Wellstar Association.
“The most challenging aspect of my job is differentiating a commodity. Many natural gas customers assume that all natural gas companies are the same because all the gas originates from a single source,” Coan said. “The difference is in customer service, and that’s what we at Gas South pride ourselves on.”
Coan worked for General Electric before joining Gas South as a sales director. His devotion to building a sales force with a commitment to culling strong relationships earned him several promotions. A native of New York, Coan has two bachelor degrees from the State University of New York Oneonta and Georgia Tech, as well as a M.B.A from Emory University. He lives in Marietta with his wife and three children.
Freddy Cardozo joined Gas South in January 2006 after working as a structuring principal with Southern Company. He previously served as Gas South’s director of supply and structuring.
“In my new role as vice president of supply and risk management, I oversee all natural gas supply in the wholesale market and ensure that it is transported and delivered to Atlanta Gas and Light. Additionally, I am responsible for all storage assets and risk management functions.”
Originally from Paraguay, Cardozo has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Asunción and a graduate degree from Arizona State University, where he attended as a Fulbright Scholar. Cardozo lives in Marietta with his wife and two children.
