Gas South donates to Hurricane Sandy victims

Gas South, Georgia’s fastest growing natural gas provider since 2008, is spreading warmth north to the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

On Wednesday, Gas South employees packed 12 large boxes of donations to ship to a church on Staten Island, NY. The boxes included non-perishable food, garbage bags, hats, gloves and other supplies donated by employees. Gas South contacted St. Christopher Parish and learned that their biggest needs included food and these items.

“We are committed to spreading the warmth that we deliver at home here in Georgia to families in need who are impacted by Hurricane Sandy,” Gas South CEO and President Kevin Greiner said.

The donation drive is part of Gas South Cares, the natural gas supplier’s company-wide initiative to give back to the communities it serves.

“Although Gas South only serves customers in Georgia, we felt it was important to reach beyond our borders to assist where the need is so great,” Greiner said. “Many of our employees have relatives and friends impacted, and we want to make sure they know that Gas South is doing its part to help.”
