Craig Harfoot is the Official Write in Candidate for Cobb County Commission Chairman
CRAIG HARFOOT will serve Cobb citizens not campaign contributors. This campaign is offered to people who want their voices heard in government. To have your voice heard, we the people must put sweat equity into a candidate.
Word of mouth, tweets, phone calls, and carrying a piece of paper with CRAIG HARFOOT written on it to correctly type in CRAIG HARFOOT at your polling place Nov. 6, 2012.
From the forums and debates I have witnessed in the past 10 years the public does not show up. Family's busy schedules, responsibilities and other time constraints easily trump today's nasty high dollar politics.
I leave it to the citizens to ask me questions and say what is on their minds. The vetting and debate should be done online by citizens using their own correct full names. I would also invite the incumbent to participate.
I have gone to practically every Cobb County Commission meeting for ten years speaking in the public comment section of the meeting. You can view what I have said on the Cobb County web site in the archived Cobb public meeting recordings under public comment, usually prior to the boards agenda vote.
I have seen on Patch discussions comments on small business and jobs. The fastest way to create a job is to start your own business at the local level. From the inception of our country, small businessmen lived where they worked.
The incumbent commission over the past ten years has made it harder or impossible for us to come out of this recession by opening your own start-up business from where you live. I believe people should be free to support themselves and pursue their own happiness while being decent to their neighbors.
Cobb County citizens have made in known to me that they do not want to see tax referendums in special elections. They believe that they should be held in general elections so that they cannot be manipulated by tax recipients. I promise that I will not put a tax referendum in a special or low voter turn out election. I believe it is wrong to include food energy and prescription drugs in any sales tax referendum during a commodity inflationary recession. Tim Lee voted for and implemented the 1.8 million dollar Alternative analysis study for transit prior the TSPLOST vote. In public comment I stated that the study should wait until after the TSPLOST vote. When the TSPLOST failed the comments from Croy engineering to the MDJ was that there will be no funding for the project for ten to twelve years. That makes the study worthless except that it gave those working on it the money to help put $450,000 into Tim Lee’s campaign. This is the same finance model that were used by the CID’s to campaign for the TSPLOST. They passed through property taxes to those shopping in the CID area. When are Cobb voters going to wake up? The law in Georgia states you cannot use taxpayer money to campaign for a tax. That is why I filed a state ethics complaint against the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and Cobb County over the redevelopment powers law and won. Sadly we did not win better government just more manipulative ways to misuse the taxpayers money against the taxpayer, and apparently help fund the most expensive incumbent protection plan in Cobb County history. Craig Harfoot is a very knowledgeable individual and skilled researcher at finding the truth where it is often hidden from public view. He cares deeply about the wasteful spending of our tax dollars, which is now in full swing by the current administration. He would work for us, the taxpayers because he is not obligated to any contributor for special favors. He is a principled man who is being put down by the local press as a gadfly. Yes, he does attend the commission meetings and asks relevant questions that the board members choose to ignore. He is well aware of many undisclosed practices that they do not want publicized; therefore they try to silence him by not responding to his questions. If you care about our county, then you should take a closer look at this honest and decent man of outstanding character.

Craig will have my vote. I am concerned with the amount of spending which promotes cronyism and "the good ol' boy" network while dismissing the individual rights of the citizens of Cobb. Private property rights and the use of the property is a crucial issue for Cobb to move forward.
